bible gateway and the niv

some of you may already know, but the niv has been updated, grammatically in order to be more politically correct.  they have changed some words in order to not be gender-biased, among other things.  i just want you to be aware of this and that biblegateway.com has already uploaded the newest version.

i want you to be aware because even though making changes to some words might not be a bad thing - i.e. clarification of meaning - if it changes the message of the gospel - that's a problem and that translation should not be trusted.

Scripture is God-breathed, but when men start messing w/ it in order to be politically correct and not leave anyone out (of course, if you know the gospel, it doesn't leave anyone out!), that is when you run into trouble.

so know your Scripture and be careful of the new 2011 NIV -- it could be trouble.
