hells bells

i really, really, really, want to write about rob bell and Love Wins.  i came across his video, while reading  this article .  everyone has been talking about it, and the book itself came out on 3.15.2011.  i really, really, really, have a problem with some of the stuff i heard and found - especially, when wanting more information, i went to bell's church website and discovered this:   FAQ on Love Wins.   i have thought for many days what to write - have written and rewritten, step back and wrote and re-wrote some more.  but i just didn't know what would be right - to speak or not to speak.  that was the question!

i believe in God, am a follower of Christ and believe the Bible to be truth and God-breathed.  i believe the Body of Christ - believers - need to call out issues when they arise - especially, when it concerns the gospel.  here is someone who is claiming to be a follower, believes Christ is Lord, and yet - doesn't have all his ducks in a row!  this bothers me, because there is someone out there who doesn't know the Truth, who is going to listen to the video and read the book and believe what mr. bell has to say.

a few things really bother me:

1. when bell states that yes, Jesus is the only way to God, but how that works - well the Bible isn't really clear - and neither is Jesus - so its kind of a mystery.

2. when he states in the video that Christianity teaches you that Jesus dies to save you from a God who sends you to hell.

3. bell passes off Christianity as teaching that only a "select few" will be in heaven.

4. you can rebel against God all you want, because in the end, He can pull you out of hell.
